8 Aug 2024
It’s that time of year where a handful of Betfred Super League players have swapped and changed from their original teams, and the top tier has also welcomed new faces.
This is something that can be hard to keep a track of, and with the race for the Play-Offs hotting up, Voono Fantasy players will want to ensure they have their best team heading into the business end of the season.
We’ve listed six must-have transfers - which could boost your Voono Fantasy Team just in time…

John Bateman (Warrington Wolves)
Who wouldn’t want a bit of Bateman brilliance in their Fantasy team?
He’s back in Super League from the NRL and with Warrington Wolves until at least the end of 2024, and he’s a powerhouse of a player who knows how to win those big matches.
As Warrington challenge for a top two spot, it’s inevitable Bateman will be the one to watch in Sam Burgess’ side. With leadership, skill and exceptional experience, he’s got all the tools to help the Wolves go on and win their maiden Grand Final…
Luke Yates (Warrington Wolves)
Luke Yates made the switch from Huddersfield to Warrington last month and has since played in three matches and had an instant impact.
He’s averaged 39 tackles a game in 2024, and who can forget his mammoth 61 tackle-effort back in April against St Helens?!
Fast forward to Round 19, and Yates has continued his fine form for his new club, making 35 tackles for Warrington against Leeds – the highest of any player on the pitch.
Yates was one of the Giants’ most consistent performers in Voono this season before his move to Warrington. He earned 75 points for the Wolves last time out despite falling to defeat.
His defensive efforts are clear to see, and they always say that defence wins a team matches, so can Yates help Warrington to some silverware?
Sam Tomkins (Catalans Dragons)
Super Sam Tomkins shocked Rugby League world when he announced his decision to come out of retirement for the remainder of the 2024 season.
His desire, determination and hunger for success are extremely attractive traits, and he’s a star-studded icon whose card you’ll be desperate for in Voono’s Fantasy Game.
Fans know all too well what Tomkins can bring on his day, as the three-time Super League champion winner returned to action for the Dragons in Round 19. His return game saw him score a modest 48 Voono points but his last outing in defeat to the Broncos gave a return of 76 points.
Stealing the show in the south of France, Tomkins scored a try superb solo try on his comeback appearance - surely starting as he means to go on…
Brad Dwyer (Leigh Leopards)
Joining Leigh from Warrington initially on loan, Dwyer impressed so much that the Leopards made his move permanent after five weeks of playing. Ever since, Dwyer has become a pivotal part of Leigh’s late Play-Off charge and remarkable revival.
Dwyer averages around 44 points in Voono each gameweek and scored a personal best of 81 point in Leopards 40-12 victory over the Red Devils in May.
Tex Hoy (Castleford Tigers)
Tex Hoy has been terrific for the Tigers since his move to the West Yorkshire club back in April. In just 12 matches, Hoy has produced five tries and seven try assists, including his match-winning score against Catalans Dragons at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle.
He’s helped put the class back in Cas, bringing flair and the threatening attack Craig Lingard’s side were very much missing at the start of the year.
The fancy fullback has racked up well over 2000 metres in a Castleford shirt – considerably more than some players who have been there from the start!
Five of Castleford’s six wins have occurred with Hoy present in the team…now we know one man doesn’t always make a team, but it’s fair to say Tex Hoy has been a tremendous transfer for Tigers…
Innes Senior (Castleford Tigers)
Another Tigers talent, Innes Senior, has been enjoying a season-long loan with club before signing a new contract in May.
He’s scored 13 tries in 20 appearances and is the side’s top metre maker in 2024, with many of his tries having come from fantastic length of the field efforts.
Senior has really prospered on the Tigers’ left edge and is arguably playing his best rugby league to date. Castleford may no longer be able to make the Play-Offs, but Senior can certainly produce the points for his Voono coaches…
