Bourouh signs for Hull FC in 2025

Hull FC have announced the signing of Amir Bourouh from Salford Red Devils for the 2025 Betfred Super League season.

The young hooker joins up with the Black & Whites on a three-year contract, keeping him at the MKM Stadium until the end of the 2027 campaign.

The exciting 23-year old English talent becomes the Airlie Birds third recruit ahead of next season, alongside powerhouse forward John Asiata and dangerous pivot Jordan Abdull.

The Huddersfield native, who played his junior rugby with Siddal, came through the ranks of the Wigan Warriors’ youth system, before making his professional debut in 2019.

After making nine appearances for the senior side, as well as a brief loan spell at Halifax in 2021, Bourouh made the move to the Red Devils ahead of the 2022 season where he has gone on to make 28 appearances, including playing nine times so far this year after being handed the number nine jersey.

Bourouh brings energy and attacking threat to the dummy-half role, with his dangerous distribution set to trouble oppositions next season, while his effort and work-rate in defence often sees him making over 30 tackles a game.

Speaking to hullfc.com, Bourouh said: “First and foremost, I want to say a huge thank you to everybody at Salford for the last three years. I’ve loved my time at the club and I appreciate everything Paul Rowley, the coaching staff and my teammates have done for me.

“But I’m really excited to be joining Hull FC for 2025. It’s a huge honour to be joining a club with such a massive fanbase and it’s a privilege that I’ll be able to contribute to a new era in a small way.

“Having had a few conversations with Richie Myler, it was clear to me that the move was great fit for my continuing development as a player.

“My focus is on ending my time at Salford in the best way possible and my promise to the supporters and everyone at the club is to put all my effort into making sure that happens.”

Hull FC’s Director of Rugby, Richie Myler, added: “Amir is an exciting young talent who we’re really pleased to add to our ranks for next season, adding some important depth to the hooker role.

“He has come through an exceptional youth system at Wigan not so long ago which has instilled some great personal and playing qualities in him, which have been visible when he’s been on the field over the last couple of seasons. He’s a bright young man with a great Rugby League head on his shoulders.

“We’re confident that we as a club can provide a platform for him to continue to develop himself as a player – as a young English hooker who will still only be 24 by the time he starts next season, we’re getting him at a really exciting stage of his career as he starts to approach his prime playing years.”
