BWhcSL: Round 6 Round Up

The Betfred Wheelchair Super League continued this weekend with some huge scores on the board.

Leeds Rhinos had the biggest win of the weekend against local rivals Bradford Bulls.

The Rhinos put a huge 150 points on the board against the Bulls who only managed to make it across once with no conversion.

As the season hits the halfway point next week, the Rhinos are in prime position to push for a spot at the top.

The second game of the weekend Edinburgh Giants hosted Sheffield Eagles in what was arguably the closest game of the round.

The Giants were left still fighting to get a win under their belt after a strong performance from the Eagles saw them collect another win at 38-70.

The game marks the third win of the season for Sheffield showing massive improvement from last season where they were unable to get a single win across the campaign.

The final game of the weekend saw Halifax Panthers host London Roosters, two sides who are fast becoming fierce rivals after a series of intense battles over the last few seasons.

Rob Hawkins headed over five times for the Panthers, adding to their fast-accumulating tally, with Cian Horgan, Joe Calcott, Jack Brown and Finlay O’Neill also adding the score.

Having converted 10 of their 12 tries, largely through Wayne Boardman, the Panthers dominated the match from the beginning.

The Roosters hit back through Mason Billington, Joe Coyd and Jason Owen, but struggled to break through the Panthers’ defensive wall leaving them facing another loss to Halifax at 68-30.
