Magic WKND debut awaits Moy
3 hrs
Logan Moy has experienced Magic WKND plenty of times as a Hull FC supporter. But on Saturday, he'll finally get to do so as a player.
Born in August 2005, Moy was just one-years of age when the inaugural Magic WKND took place in May 2007.
The 20-year-old is set to make his Magic WKND debut when the Black & Whites face cross-city rivals Hull KR at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and it's an occasion he's been looking forward to ever since breaking into the first team a couple of seasons ago.
“I’ve never actually played in a Magic Weekend,” said Moy. I think I was 18th Man for it last year. I'm really excited.”
“I've been to many Magics since I was a young boy. Obviously, I’ve been a Hull FC fan all my life, so I've come to a few of the weekends and it's always been really good.
“This year, I'm hopefully excited to put on the show with me playing in the team.”
The Hull Derby, along with five other fierce rivalries, adds another layer to an already special occasion in Liverpool this weekend.
Moy has featured in three Hull Derbies across league and cup already, and says coming up against the Robins is unlike anything else in Super League.
“I think I've played in three derbies now, but it's just a different type of game. I don't think you can compare it to any other league games. It's just exciting, especially with the atmosphere - it's going to be so good.”
This year's Magic WKND takes place at Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium, giving Super League players the opportunity to perform on another major stage. Although football has never been a huge passion for Moy, he admits playing in stadiums like this is something he relishes.
"I've never really been into football too much," he said.
"But I'll say I’m a supporter of the Tigers!' I'll probably jump on it next year with the promotion. It's great that Hull City are going up, and it's just a privilege to be able to play at great stadiums like the Hill Dickinson."
Moy has enjoyed a decent run of games in 2026, with the young full-back gaining valuable experience in Will Pryce’s absence, despite a difficult spell of results for Andy Last’s men.
"It's a shame with some of the scores and the results we've had in some games," he admitted. "But we're just going to keep pushing for the rest of the season.
"Hopefully we can turn our season around a little bit, but it's just good to get out on the pitch and get a run of games together."
A Derby Day victory would provide the perfect lift for Hull FC, and Moy knows exactly how much it would mean to everyone at the club.
"We definitely need a win against them," he said. "We'll be coming out ready for the win."
