Round 10 Preview

We’ve hit Round 10 of the Betfred Super League!

Here’s what’s coming your way, as we pass a third of the way through the 2026 competition…

Thursday 30 April

Hull KR v Castleford Tigers (20.00) – live on Sky Sports

The champions entertain the Tigers on Thursday Night, live on Sky Sports.

The Robins are searching for their fifth straight win, whereas Ryan Carr’s Tigers will need to find some consistency quickly as the season rapidly progresses.

Hull KR have won their last seven home meetings with Castleford, including last year’s Round 1 thriller, where a Mikey Lewis drop goal in Golden Point extra time snatched victory for the hosts.

For the Robins, Jordan Dezaria misses out after failing a HIA last week against Bradford, and Bill Leyland also drops out of the extended squad. Oli Gildart and Jack Charles are named in their place.

There's a number of changes for the Tigers. Semi Valemei, Liam Hood, George Lawler, Jack Ashworth, Jenson Windley and George Hirst all drop out from the squad that faced Hull FC last week.

Returning to the squad are Cain Robb and Jimmy Beckett, recalled from loan spells, whilst new signings Tyler Dupree, Phoenix Laulu-Togaga'e and Tom Nicholson-Watton all come straight into contention to play on Thursday night.

Meanwhile, Ashton Golding returns to the frame in a late call.

Friday 1 May

Leeds Rhinos v Wakefield Trinity (20.00) – live on Sky Sports

A blockbuster clash awaits in Round 10 as league leaders Leeds face rivals Wakefield under the Friday Night Lights at AMT Headingley Stadium.

The sides most recently met in the Betfred Challenge Cup competition last month, where tries from Matty Storton and Ky Rodwell sealed an emphatic win for Trinity.

In Super League, there were a trio of meetings between the teams last year – with all three proving to be a pulsating watch.

Whether it was Mason Lino’s last gasp drop goal in Round 20 (Trinity won 15-14), Jake Connor’s masterclass in Round 13 (Rhinos won 22-18), or Max Jowitt’s terrific try in Round 1 (Trinity won 12-14), it’s a local derby that does not disappoint.

And with league positions at stake, it’s expected to be an electric encounter in front of a bumper crowd.

The 17 players who have all played the last four games for the Rhinos are retained in the 21-man squad with youngsters Harley Thomas and Fergie McCormack also drafted in. The squad is completed by Presley Cassell and Ethan O'Neill.

Daryl Powell has made three changes to the Wakefield side that fell short at the BrewDog Stadium against St Helens.

He welcomes back Mason Lino, with youngsters Robbie Brook and Zack Clegg also earning call ups into the squad.

Seth Nikotemo, Tom Johnstone and Ellis Lingard drop out to make way for the above three players.

St Helens v York Knights (20.00) – live on Sky Sports

Meanwhile, a high-flying St Helens, who are also joint-top of the Super League, will be hoping to keep tabs on the Rhinos and secure another two points when they welcome York Knights to the BrewDog Stadium.

Saints could make it fourth successive wins on Friday Night, but as proven so far this season, York are not a side to be underestimated and have shown they can compete with teams at the top end of the table.

Paul Rowley’s men, however, have been finding ways to win and know that a victory on Friday coupled with a Trinity win over in West Yorkshire, would see them sitting in top spot ahead of Challenge Cup semi-finals week.

Saints are boosted by the return of their number one Jack Welsby to our 21-man squad. Hull KR loanee and Good Friday hero Bill Leyland also returns to the club on a short-term loan.

Young Saints Alfie Sinclair and Billy Keeley are the two players who come out of the squad from last week.

Meanwhile, Sam Wood, Josh Griffin and Kieran Hudson drop out of the Knights squad, whilst Matty Foster has been called in for a possible club debut. Sam Cook, Myles Harrison, Cody Hunter and David Nofoaluma are on loan from Newcastle Thunder, along with Ben Littlewood on loan from Leeds Rhinos.

Saturday 2 May

Wigan Warriors v Bradford Bulls (15.00) – live on BBC, Sky Sports+ and SuperLeague+

Two old foes reunite in the Super League this Saturday with Wigan hosting Bradford, and fans can watch their reunion live on BBC iPlayer, as well as Sky Sports+ and SuperLeague+.

There’s plenty of history between the two sides, and in Round 10 both are aiming to get back to winning ways.

It’s no secret Bradford are in the thick of a major injury crisis, with Wigan also enduring a rocky period as of late.

The Warriors have suffered back-to-back defeats at the hands of Warrington and Castleford, but will they be able to bounce back on home soil? Their head coach Matt Peet and Wigan fans will be certainly hoping so!

Matt Peet has made two changes to his 21-player squad ahead of Saturday's fixture at The Brick Community Stadium, as Josh Cartwright and George Marsden replace Jonny Vaughan and Liam Marshall.

For Kurt Haggerty and the Bulls, Andy Ackers and Guy Armitage are both in contention to return from their respective injury lay offs, replacing Connor Wynne and Jack Ormondroyd, who both suffered injuries in the clash with Hull KR.

Catalans Dragons v Leigh Leopards (18.00, UK) – live on Sky Sports+ and SuperLeague+

Catalans and Leigh will meet for the second time this season, with the Leopards hoping to enact revenge for the 16-22 defeat they endured at home back in Round 4.

Adrian Lam’s men will head to the south of France on Saturday Night boosted by their Round 9 win over the Giants.

They will come up against a Dragons side determined to right their wrongs for last week though, after they were beaten comfortably by the Rhinos.

Franck Maria and Clément Martin are named in the Catalans squad. They replace Ben Garcia and Lenny Marc.

David Armstrong is once again listed in the Leopards' 21-man squad, but will he make the game day 17?

Huddersfield Giants v Warrington Wolves (20.00) – live on Sky Sports+ and SuperLeague+

Saturday’s third offering has Huddersfield at home to Warrington.

Did you know that Marc Sneyd has scored points in his last 19 games against Huddersfield (eight for Hull FC, nine for Salford, two for the Wolves)? Will he continue his tally for the Wolves this weekend?

Toby King has also scored a try in each of the Wolves' last five meetings with Huddersfield.

Where squad news is concerned, Connor Wrench takes Tom Burgess' place for the Giants. The Wolves are also hit with a big blow after discovering young full-back Cai Taylor-Wray will require ankle surgery and is set for a lengthy spell on the side-lines.

Sunday 3 May

Hull FC v Toulouse Olympique (15.00) – live on Sky Sports+ and SuperLeague+

Round 10 concludes with the Black & Whites versus Toulouse.

Andy Last’s side were victorious away at Castleford last Friday Night, posting 50 points on their opponents. They will be hoping they can kick on from this point onwards.

On the other hand, Toulouse are without a win since Round 2 so Sylvain Houles' side will be low on confidence, but in a season as unpredictable as this one, anything can happen!

In history, the teams have met on three occasions with Hull coming away with a clean sweep of victories.
