Nikau Williams returns to the Knights

Nikau Williams back at York Knights for 2026.

After making 26 appearances in 2024 and scoring ten tries and kicking 32 goals, he returned to Australia.

He featured in the halves, full back and centre during the season as York went on to finish fourth in the Betfred Championship.

Williams joined from Newcastle Thunder, and had previously spent two years at Whitehaven before moving to North Yorkshire.

Mark Applegarth said: "He's a player I've been chasing ever since he had to go back to Australia.

"We didn't want him to leave in the first place and we're delighted we've got him back.

"He picked up exactly where he left off and he's just slotted straight back in. I think he's going to be a massive part of the squad this year and I'm delighted we've got him back on board."

Williams said: "I'm really happy be back. Clint got in touch gave me the opportunity to come back and I was buzzing and took it with both hands.

"I'm really enjoying being back. It's like I never left to be honest."
