Rivals Round Returns Play-Off Permutations

Leigh Leopards, Leeds Rhinos and St Helens ALL confirmed their Play-Off places in Round 24, joining Hull KR and Wigan Warriors as Grand Final Night is fast approaching.

This means there’s just one Play-Off place left for the taking – but will it be Wakefield Trinity or Hull FC who occupy that sixth and final spot?

The excitement is building in The Final Charge – and here are the current league standings…

This week sees Rivals Round Returns (Round 25) take place, but what are the key takings and possible permutations?

Well…Hull KR could finally wrap up the League Leaders’ Shield this Sunday, provided that they win and the Warriors fail to win.

The Robins have home advantage this weekend, and a win would put them on 42 points with just two regular rounds remaining.

And even if Wigan were to win their match and move onto 38 points, KR’s points difference is still outrageously superior.

However, nothing can be confirmed until it is completely and mathematically impossible for the current champions to catch them…

The race for second place is reaching boiling point with the Warriors, Rhinos, Leopards and Saints all fighting it out.

The Warriors must keep winning if they are to achieve a top two finish, and they’ve got an enormous clash with bitter rivals St Helens this Friday Night.

Not only are bragging rights at stake, but the outcome of this game could have a decisive say on the final league standings.

Expect tensions to be at an all-time high!

Don’t forget – a top two finish also means a guaranteed home Semi-Final. Hull KR already confirmed theirs in Round 24, but who will be joining them?

Will it be Wigan or can another team cause a surprise? Leeds look unstoppable at present and still have the Warriors left to play in their remaining three fixtures…

But first, they, along with Leigh, will travel to face a struggling side this weekend, with the hope of producing a BIG performance in order to boost their top two chances.

The Rhinos are away at Huddersfield, and the Leopards are on the road at Warrington Wolves.

Meanwhile, the battle for sixth is well and truly on.

Wakefield Trinity leapfrogged Hull FC following the results in Round 24 and now their destiny is in their own hands.

The Trin thrashed Huddersfield on home soil, while FC were unable to handle a relentless Rhinos side.

On paper, many have argued that Trinity have the easier run-in from now until the end of the season and will make the short trip to face their nearest and dearest Castleford Tigers on Friday, in hope of banking another vital two points.

But the Black & Whites should have all the motivation they need, especially with a HUGE Hull Derby coming up this Sunday.

They will be aiming to avoid a clean sweep of defeats from their cross-city rivals in 2025 and will do everything in their power to try to stop the Robins from winning the Shield there and then.

Will Hull be responsible for ruining any form of potential celebrations at Sewell Group Craven Park?

And who will be sitting in sixth after this weekend’s results?
