BWSL: Round 14 Round Up
4 hrs

This weekend we saw the 2025 Betfred Women’s Super League regular season come to a close as the top four teams now shift their focus to the upcoming semi-finals.
In Round 14, second-place St Helens travelled to Leigh Sports Village to face Leigh Leopards. Sitting just one point behind League Leaders’ Shield winners Wigan Warriors, the Red V proved they still have plenty of fire in their bellies in a dominant 44-0 win over the Leopards.
Saints claimed control from the start, moving into the break with a 30-0 lead with a brace from Dani McGifford and tries from Rachel Woosey, Beri Salihi, Shona Hoyle and Caitlin Maylor.
Leigh came into the second half with stronger defensive efforts, but it wasn’t enough to put any points on the board, leading Luci McColm and Vicky Whitefield to score and close the match.
At Laund Hill, Huddersfield Giants met Barrow Raiders where the Giants gave us another dominant display, beating the Raiders 48-6. Two early tries from Amelia Brown saw the home side take control promptly in the game.
The Raiders fought back with a converted try from Beth Lindsay, but it wasn’t enough to gain momentum and became their only points of the match. Abigail Liu, Lois Naidole and Kelsey Gentles scored three more tries for the Giants, taking it to 28-6 as both teams entered the second half. Not before long, Brown added another to make her brace a hat trick, with Charlotte Shaw rounding off the scoring with a final try in the last seven minutes of the game.
The final game of the weekend came from Leeds Rhinos and York Valkyrie, broadcast live on The Sportsman.
The Rhinos, whose captain Caitlin Beevers made her first appearance back at home after an injury last season, sent a strong message to the other semi finalists that they are not to be ignored in their 30-14 victory against the Valkyrie.
The home team built an 18-0 lead going into the break after Ruby Walker, Shannon Brown and Lucy Murray crashed through the defence.
Murray added a second try shortly after half time, before the Valkyrie stole control and Georgia Dagger got them off the mark. However, not before long Murray came in to score her third and seal the victory for the Rhinos.
Peace Lekuru and Savannah Andrade attempted to claw back some points for the visitors, but Leeds’ hat-trick scoring Murray had made it too difficult for them to close the gap and the Rhinos rounded off their regular season with a win.
Wigan Warriors were awarded a 48-0 win against Warrington Wolves after their withdrawal from the competition since Round 12.
The Warriors, Saints, Rhinos and Valkyrie will progess to the semi-finals next weekend.
Meanwhile, that's a wrap for the Giants, Leopards and Raiders in 2025.
