The 2025 Betfred Super League heads into its penultimate round this weekend, and we are at the scintillating summit of The Final Charge!
The League Leaders’ Shield could finally be awarded in Round 26, along with the confirmation of second place and even sixth place if results were to go a certain way.
And after the previous round’s results, it is now confirmed that Warrington Wolves are officially out of the running for this year’s Play-Offs.
Here are the current league standings…

There are only two regular rounds remaining, but what are this week’s possible permutations?
Hull KR will win the League Leaders’ Shield on Saturday Night if they win or draw against Wakefield Trinity.
It’s been a long time coming, and a rampant Robins sit fourth points clear at the top of the table following their derby delight against Hull FC in Rivals Round Returns (They have a whopping 42 points to their name).
Effectively, the Shield is already theirs as Willie Peters’ side would now need to lose both of their last two fixtures against Wakefield and Warrington Wolves, while second-placed Wigan Warriors would need to beat Castleford Tigers and Leeds Rhinos - as well as overturn a superior points difference that is currently 113 points in Hull KR's favour.
Even if the Warriors were to win, the Robins only need one point to secure their first ever League Leaders’ Shield and make history.
And if Wigan fail to win against the Tigers on Friday Night, the Robins will go into their match at Trinity with prior knowledge that there’s another piece of silverware on its way to East Hull.
But if Wakefield were to win – which isn’t out of the question – combined with a Warriors win, then Hull KR would be denied their Shield celebrations for yet another week and would have to wait until Round 27 before anything became official.
This would see them lift the prized Shield at home to Warrington in their final game of the regular season.
Then, the race for second place has reached its heights with the Warriors, Rhinos and Leopards all in its pursuit.
All three sides are oozing with confidence in their respective Final Charges, but the Warriors have always been favourites – and a win against Castleford Tigers this Friday could see them nail down second spot, as well as an important home Semi-Final tie.
BUT this is only if Leeds fail to win their game against Catalans Dragons – and it’s fair to say that the Rhinos are on a remarkable roll at present.
They’re back at AMT Headingley in Round 26 and a win here means the fight for second place will go right through to Round 27 where Wigan and Leeds will face each other – a fixture that always plays out a classic.
And if it happens to boil down to that, then buckle up your seatbelts as the final Friday Night would promise to have an absolute cracker on its hands!
A second-place decider in Round 27…who’d have thought it? Let’s not get carried away just yet…
And let’s not forget the Leopards’ Final Charge too. Adrian Lam’s men are on the hunt for their highest ever Super League finish in 2025 and could ensure this with a win against Saints on Friday.
The Leopards have home advantage in their favour, too – the Leigh Sports Village isn’t an easy place to go…
If Leigh beat St Helens, which they have done already in 2025, the lowest they can finish is fourth, with a home Eliminator in the bag.
And although unlikely, second place is still in slim reach, but only if they were to win both of next two games, the Warriors lose their final two, and Leeds lose in Round 26 and then win against Wigan in Round 27.
Never say never if you’re a Leopards fan?
For the Red V, a fifth-place finish is looking likely.
Then, all eyes turn to a truly intense battle between Wakefield and Hull FC for the final Play-Off place.
Hull may have thought their top six chances were well and truly fading, but Trinity’s shock loss to the Tigers gave the Black & Whites a golden opportunity to leapfrog them in Rivals Round Returns.
They couldn’t quite get the job done last Sunday though, which means both sides could be in for a nail-biting fortnight.
That said, if Wakefield were to pull off a victory at home against Hull KR in Round 26 and Hull FC were to fall short against the Wolves, then Daryl Powell’s men will confirm sixth spot there and then as Trinity would be three points clear heading into the last round.
With both games kicking off at a similar time on Saturday, there’s bound to be a lot of people frantically checking the other’s score, that’s for sure!
Destiny is still in Wakefield’s hands (only just), but if they lose and Hull FC win, then John Cartwright’s troops will overtake the Trin, and in turn will dash their Play-Off rivals’ hopes with the one-point cushion they will be thankful they have.
This also means sixth position can’t be decided until the final round…
Who will experience agony and who will experience ecstasy?
