Myers commits future to Trinity

Trinity youngster, Jayden Myers, will remain in the Red, White and Blue until the end of the 2030 season after signing a new five-year deal.

The 22-year old joined Wakefield in December 2024 a year earlier than initially expected after Trinity paid a fee to Bradford to secure his services.

Since joining Wakefield, Myers has gone on to make five appearances in Super League for Trinity after making his debut against Salford Red Devils in May. He bagged his first Super League try against Huddersfield Giants in Round 19.

At Bradford, the outside back made 39 appearances after making his debut in 2023 where he became a fans favourite and earned the nickname ‘Starboy’.

On his new deal, Jayden Myers said: “I’m absolutely delighted to commit my future to Wakefield until 2030. From the moment I arrived, the past eight months have been an incredible experience, which made the decision to stay at this great club an easy one.

The direction the club is heading in is really exciting, and I can’t wait to continue being part of the journey.

I’d like to say a massive thanks to the coaches, players, and Matt and his family for the work they’ve done to help transform the club. With the foundations now in place, I truly believe we’re on the path to competing for silverware in the near future, and I’m glad to be on board for the next 5 years.”

Wakefield Head Coach, Daryl Powell said: “Jayden has applied himself in an outstanding way since he joined the club. He has been patient and hard working whilst growing within our culture and environment.

He has made his Super League debut this year and achieved the respect of his team mates in the process. We are confident he will be a consistent Super League player and I look forward to seeing how he develops in the next few years.”

Director of Rugby, Ste Mills said: “Signing Jayden up to a long term deal has been one of our priorities for a long period of time, everyone at the club can see how much progress he has made in the 7 months since joining us and this has us very excited to see where he can get to on his journey.

He’s a young powerful outside back who gives us strength on the wings and in the centres, and this piece of business will be seen as a crucial signing in a couple of years.”
